Privacy policy
Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Click & Clean collects when you use our website, book a clean, ask for a quote, contact us or apply to clean with us. It also covers what we do with that information, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the rights you have.
1. Who we are
Click & Clean is the controller of your personal information, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for looking after it.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number .
For anything about your personal information, email hello@clickandcleanuk.com.
2. The information we collect
When you book a clean
- Your name, email address, phone number and the address of the property.
- Details of the property and the clean: home size, service, extras, date and time, property type, floor and lift, parking, pets, access arrangements and any notes you give us.
- For end-of-tenancy cleans: your move-out date, the letting agent’s check-out date and the agent’s name, if you give them.
- Whether you agreed to our terms and, separately, whether you want marketing offers from us, with the date and time you told us.
- How you found us, and which advert or link brought you to the site, if any.
Please don’t put key-safe codes or alarm codes in the booking form. We’ll arrange those with you separately.
Photos and details about your home
- Photos you upload: before your clean you can add photos (or a PDF such as an inventory) and describe each room, so your cleaner knows what to expect. Please avoid photographing people, personal documents or anything you’d rather we didn’t see.
- Job photos: our cleaners take photos of the rooms they clean as a record of the work. For end-of-tenancy cleans these make up your photo report.
Payments
Card payments are taken by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe: we never see or store your full card number. We keep a record of what you paid, any refunds and the payment status of each booking.
Messages, quotes and applications
- What you send us through our contact form, by email, by phone or on WhatsApp.
- Office cleaning quote requests: your business name, your contact details and details of the premises.
- Waiting-list sign-ups: your email address and postcode area.
- If you apply to clean with us: your name, contact details, the areas and times you can work, your experience and anything else you choose to tell us. If you then clean with us, we also keep the jobs you do, your agreed pay and the details we need to pay you.
When you use our website
- Essential cookies and similar storage that make the site work, such as keeping you signed in or remembering your booking while you fill it in.
- Advertising and analytics cookies, but only if you accept them. See our cookie policy.
- Technical information that our hosting providers log automatically, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working.
3. How we use it and our lawful basis
Data protection law says we need a lawful basis for each way we use your information:
- To arrange and carry out your clean, including assigning a cleaner, sharing the job details with them, sending confirmations and updates, showing your booking tracker and dealing with changes: contract (we need it to provide the service you booked).
- To take payment, give refunds and handle our re-clean guarantee and complaints: contract.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records: legal obligation.
- To keep photos and records as evidence of the work done, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and keep our systems secure: legitimate interests (running a reliable, safe business).
- To understand how people find us, using the advert or link that brought you to the site: legitimate interests. Advertising cookies are used only with your consent.
- To send you offers and reminders from Click & Clean: your consent, given with a separate unticked box. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To prepare a quote you ask for: steps before a contract.
- To assess applications from cleaners and work with them: steps before a contract and contract, and legal obligation for any checks the law requires.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Prices are calculated automatically from the options you choose.
4. Who we share it with
- Your cleaner: only what they need to do the job: your first name and phone number, the address, access arrangements, property details, your notes, your home walkthrough and the photos you uploaded. Cleaners never see your email address or what you paid. They must keep your details confidential and use them only for your clean.
- Stripe, to take card payments and give refunds.
- Supabase, our database and hosting provider, which stores booking records and photos in London.
- Our website host, which serves the website to your browser.
- Our email provider, to send booking emails and reports.
- Postcode and address lookup services, which receive the postcode you type so we can check we cover your area and find your address.
- Google Fonts: your browser downloads our font from Google, which receives your IP address.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us there.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), only if you accept advertising cookies.
- Our accountants, insurers and professional advisers; the police, courts or regulators where the law requires it; and a buyer, if our business is ever sold.
These providers act on our instructions and must keep your information secure.
5. Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers, or their support teams, are based outside the UK (for example in the European Economic Area or the United States). Where your information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected, for example by relying on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
6. How long we keep it
- Booking and payment records: 6 years after the booking, for tax, accounting and legal claims.
- Photos you uploaded, your home walkthrough and job photos: 12 months after the clean, unless we need them for an open complaint or dispute.
- Messages and quote requests: up to 12 months, or longer if they become a booking.
- Waiting list: until we reach your area or you ask us to remove you.
- Cleaner applications: 6 months if unsuccessful. Records of cleaners who work with us: 6 years after their last job.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a note so we don’t contact you again.
7. How we keep it safe
Our website and systems use encryption in transit, and access to booking information is limited to the people who need it. Cleaners can only see the jobs assigned to them, and only the details listed above. Your manage-my-booking link is private to you, so please don’t share it.
8. Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it;
- ask us to restrict how we use it, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
- receive the information you gave us in a portable format; and
- withdraw your consent to marketing or cookies at any time.
To use any of these rights, email hello@clickandcleanuk.com. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month. We may need to confirm your identity first. To stop marketing, you can also use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
9. Children
Our services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change affects you significantly, we’ll let you know.
11. Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
