For our cleaners

Cleaner job terms

These terms apply to every job you accept through Click & Clean. You agree to them when you accept a job or start it in the cleaner app.

Version 2026-10-25

1. About these terms

These terms set out what Click & Clean (“we”, “us”) expects on every job. They sit alongside anything else we’ve agreed with you, such as your pay. Each job sheet and the cleaner app show a short version, and this page has the full wording. If we change these terms, we’ll tell you and show the new version date.

2. Working with us

  • You work as a self-employed cleaner, not as our employee. You’re responsible for your own tax and National Insurance.
  • You choose which jobs to accept, and you’re free to work for others too.
  • Your pay for each job is agreed with you before you accept it and is shown on the job sheet and in the app. Where the customer can’t provide a parking permit, the parking cost is included in your pay.

3. Cleaning products and equipment

You must bring your own cleaning products and equipment to every job. We don’t supply them, and customers aren’t asked to. The cost is covered in your pay, and we don’t reimburse it separately. Keep your kit clean and in good working order, and use separate cloths for toilets, bathrooms and kitchens.

Basic kit for every job

  • Vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket, microfibre cloths, sponges and scrubbing brush, rubber gloves, multi-surface cleaner, kitchen degreaser, bathroom cleaner and limescale remover, toilet cleaner and brush, glass cleaner, floor cleaner, duster and bin bags.

Extra kit for some jobs

  • End of tenancy: oven cleaner and a scraper for the oven glass, and a step stool.
  • Deep cleaning: a step stool.
  • After builders: a vacuum with a HEPA filter, plenty of extra cloths, a plastic scraper, a step stool and a dust mask.

Only use the customer’s own products if they ask you to, for example for a special floor or worktop.

4. Before the job

  • Read the job sheet, the customer’s notes, their home walkthrough and any photos before you go.
  • Confirm the job, and that you accept these terms, by replying to the job sheet or accepting in the app.
  • If you can’t do a job you’ve accepted, tell us straight away, and at least 24 hours before if you can. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may mean we stop offering you jobs.

5. At the job

  • Arrive at the booked time. If you’re running late, tell us so we can let the customer know.
  • Follow the checklist for the service and the customer’s notes. Never clean, move or use anything the customer has marked “don’t touch”.
  • If the home is very different from what was booked (for example more rooms, or far more cleaning needed), contact us before you start. Don’t agree a new price with the customer yourself.
  • Don’t move heavy furniture, work at height beyond a step stool, or do anything unsafe.
  • Don’t bring anyone else to a job unless we’ve agreed it.

6. Safety

  • Follow the instructions on every product’s label. Never mix chemicals, especially bleach with ammonia or acidic cleaners.
  • Keep rooms ventilated, wear gloves and test products on a small hidden area first. No bleach or harsh scrubbing on delicate surfaces such as marble, natural stone, wood or new paintwork.
  • Keep products away from children and pets, and never leave them unattended.
  • Tell us about anything unsafe at the property, and don’t carry on if you feel unsafe.

7. Photos and finishing

  • Take the photos asked for on the job sheet. For end-of-tenancy cleans, photograph every room, the oven and the fridge, because they make up the customer’s photo report.
  • Mark the job done in the app, or message us, when everything on the checklist is complete.
  • If the customer reports something missed within 72 hours, we may ask you to go back and put it right.

8. Keys, access and security

  • Keep keys, key-safe codes and alarm codes private. Never share them or write them down where others could see them.
  • Lock up and set any alarm as instructed when you leave, and return keys exactly as agreed.
  • Never leave the property unlocked or let anyone in unless the customer has told us to.

9. Customer privacy

  • Use the customer’s details only for their job. Don’t contact them for anything else, and don’t share their details with anyone.
  • Never post photos of customers’ homes or belongings on social media.
  • Delete messages, job sheets and photos from your phone once the job and any re-clean are finished, unless we ask you to keep them.
  • See our privacy policy for how we handle personal information.

10. Damage, breakages and accidents

Tell us straight away about any damage, breakage, accident or injury, with photos if you can. Don’t try to settle it with the customer yourself: we’ll handle it.

11. Customers and payments

  • All bookings go through us. Don’t take payment for Click & Clean jobs directly, and don’t offer Click & Clean customers cleaning outside Click & Clean while you work with us.
  • Customers may choose to tip you, and you keep 100% of tips. Please don’t ask for them.

12. Ending our arrangement

You can stop taking jobs with us at any time, and we can stop offering you jobs. Please finish any jobs you’ve already accepted, or give us as much notice as possible. Sections 8 to 10 still apply after you stop working with us.
